I didn’t become a business owner to go with the flow
I became a business owner because I was tired of people telling me how I had to act, dress, and speak in order to be taken seriously.
Fun hair, tattoos, and a sense of whimsy shouldn’t mean that I get overlooked for promotions and my ideas get squashed until they come out of a man’s mouth instead. Yet that was my experience in the corporate world.
And if you’re here, you probably feel ike that too.
REPEAT AFTER ME:
Professional doesn’t have to mean bland, safe, and minimal.
It means you can show up, effectively explain your expertise to your target audience, and not feel like a soulless drone by the end of the day.
Playing it safe is a disservice to all the unique and beautiful things that make you, you.
There’s a reason everyone in your industry looks the same. They chose to play it safe to not cause any ripples in the industry. That’s why almost every salon or spa uses the same script font, floral icons, and beige color palette.
But that’s not how you craft a brand that sticks.

myspace kid
I spent a lot of time on MySpace learning to code and use Photoshop. I apparently never grew out of it.
I was very much on Tumblr and Lookbook. I was cringe but I was free.
corgi obsessed
Very original of me to love the internets fave dog, but seriously who couldn't love a sassy potato?
I had two soul dogs who changed the trajectory of my life and led me here and I'll always be a corgi mom because of them. :)
anime + sci-fi nerd
I spend most of my free time playing video games or watching anime with my partner. I also love to read sci-fi and other fantasy genres.
Currently watching One Piece & reading The Witcher Series.
